Sugar Cube – Rock Weathering

One Concept. Two Grades. Thoughtful Teaching — The RQA Way

At RQA, meaningful learning is never one-size-fits-all. It is intentionally designed, carefully structured, and thoughtfully delivered to meet students exactly where they are — academically and developmentally.

This week, our students explored the scientific concepts of weathering, erosion, and deposition, but in two very different ways.

Same Teacher. Different Depth. Different Delivery.

What makes this experience truly special is that the same teacher guided both Grade 4 and Grade 2 through the same core concept — yet adjusted the depth, language, examples, and activities to suit each grade level. This reflects the intentional planning and pedagogical skill that defines teaching at RQA.

Grade 4 – Investigating Earth’s Changing Surface

Our Grade 4 students engaged in hands-on investigations to understand how Earth’s surface changes over time. Through structured activities and guided discussion, they explored:

  • Weathering – the process of rocks breaking down into smaller pieces
  • Erosion – the movement of those particles by wind, water, or ice
  • Deposition – the settling of transported materials in new locations

Students examined real-world examples, discussed natural forces, and analyzed how landscapes are shaped gradually over time. Their learning emphasized scientific vocabulary, cause-and-effect relationships, and long-term environmental impact.

The depth of discussion encouraged critical thinking and conceptual understanding, helping students connect classroom learning to the world around them.

Grade 2 – Discovering Through Simple, Engaging Exploration

Meanwhile, our Grade 2 students were introduced to the same concepts — but in a developmentally appropriate and engaging way.

Using a simple sugar cube activity, students observed how:

  • Weathering means rocks breaking into smaller pieces
  • Erosion means those pieces being carried away by wind or water

Through visual demonstration and guided explanation, abstract scientific ideas became concrete and memorable. The activity sparked curiosity while reinforcing foundational understanding.

Intentional Teaching. Structured Growth.

This approach demonstrates the essence of teaching at RQA:

  • Same core scientific principle
  • Different levels of complexity
  • Carefully adjusted instruction
  • Purposeful scaffolding of knowledge

Our educators invest time in preparing lessons that align with cognitive readiness, ensuring students are neither overwhelmed nor under-challenged. Concepts are introduced early in simple form and revisited later with greater depth — creating continuity and long-term retention.

That is thoughtful teaching.
That is structured academic growth.
That is learning — the RQA way.

Open House 2026–2027 | Rawdat al Quran Academy

🎤 When Students Speak, Schools Shine

Alhamdulillah, Rawdat al Quran Academy successfully hosted its Open House for the 2026–2027 academic year, and it was an evening that truly reflected the heart of RQA.

Prospective families gathered to learn more about our academic programs, growth journey, and vision for continued excellence. But what made this Open House exceptional was not just the presentation, it was the voices of our students.

🌟 The Highlight: Our Student Panel

Rather than simply speaking about our school, we allowed our students to speak for it.

A carefully selected panel representing different grade levels took the stage to answer questions directly from parents. What followed was a powerful demonstration of confidence, clarity, and character.

They spoke about:
  • Academic rigor and classroom support
  • Personal growth and confidence building
  • Tarbiyat and Islamic values in daily school life
  • The strong student–teacher relationships at RQA
There were no rehearsed speeches. No scripted responses. Just authentic reflections from students who live the RQA experience every day.

🎓 Confidence Beyond Their Years

What stood out most was their composure.

They listened attentively.
They answered thoughtfully.
They represented the academy with maturity well beyond their years.

Their confidence was not loud,  it was grounded.
It was the kind that comes from being nurtured in a structured, value-driven environment.

For many parents in the audience, this was the most convincing moment of the evening. Because while brochures can describe a school’s vision, students embody it.

🌿 Education That Builds More Than Academics

At RQA, we believe education is not limited to textbooks and examinations. True education develops:
  • Knowledge
  • Character
  • Faith
  • Leadership
  • Communication skills
The Student Panel was a living example of this philosophy in action.

When students can confidently articulate their learning journey, express gratitude for their teachers, and reflect on their growth — that is the real measure of a school’s success.

💚 A Proud Moment for the RQA Community

The feedback from attending families was overwhelmingly positive. Many shared how impressed they were by the students’ clarity, humility, and confidence.

For us, this evening was not just about enrollment.
It was about demonstrating the culture we are building — one rooted in excellence and tarbiyat.

Alhamdulillah for the progress we have witnessed over the past two years. And Alhamdulillah for students who continue to raise the standard of what RQA represents.

Because when students speak with confidence and character,
the school shines.

A Day in RQA

A Day in the Life of Our Students

Each school day begins with purpose, reflection, and intention. Our students start their morning with Hifz, followed by Dirasat Islamiyah, grounding them in Islamic knowledge and values before transitioning into their academic studies.

From there, the day unfolds into a balanced blend of spiritual growth, academic learning, and hands-on experiences.

A Typical Day at Our School

Hifz & Dirasat Islamiyah
Students begin their day strengthening their connection to the Qur’an through Hifz, followed by structured Dirasat Islamiyah classes that deepen their understanding of faith and practice.

Tilawat u Dua
Tilawat u Dua takes place during class time, and on Fridays students gather in the auditorium for a collective recitation, fostering unity and reflection.

Friday Assembly
Our Friday assemblies are a highlight of the week. Students present on various topics and subjects, building confidence, public speaking skills, and pride in their learning.

Engaging Academic Instruction

Our academic program is thoughtfully designed to keep learning interactive and meaningful:

  • Social Studies – Students explore our country and state, building awareness of history, geography, and civic responsibility.

  • Science – Hands-on experiments and labs allow students to investigate, question, and discover.

  • Reading & Writing (Language Arts) – Students participate in both group and independent reading. Reading logs and reward points encourage a lifelong love of books.

  • Language Arts Stations – Teacher-led instruction combined with individualized learning stations ensures that every child receives the support they need.

  • Mathematics – Through hands-on activities, such as learning how to read clocks and tell time, students build strong foundational skills in an engaging way.

Daily Namaaz & Practical Learning

Elementary students are taught wudu and namaaz step by step, nurturing confidence in their daily worship. Secondary students gather in the auditorium for congregational namaaz, strengthening discipline and community bonds.

Electives & Enrichment (SEL)

To conclude the day, students participate in electives and enrichment classes that develop creativity, physical well-being, and life skills. Offerings include:

  • Calligraphy

  • Art

  • Physical Education

  • Library

  • Arabic Language

  • Public Speaking & Speech

  • And many more rotating activities

Our goal each day is to create a nurturing environment where students grow academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Through a balanced schedule of faith-centered learning, rigorous academics, and enriching activities, we strive to develop confident, knowledgeable, and compassionate individuals.

RQA Students Partner with Dana Committee During Shehrullah

This Shehrullah, RQA is proud to partner with the Dana Committee in a beautiful initiative that blends service with character building.

After Iftaar, our students step forward to perform small acts of khidmat — assisting in clearing leftover food from plates, picking up fallen dana, gently reminding attendees to avoid israaf (waste), and supporting the overall cleanliness of the space. While these tasks may appear small, their impact is profound.

Through this partnership, students are learning humility, modesty, responsibility, and the dignity of service. They experience firsthand that true leadership begins with serving others quietly and sincerely.

To make the experience joyful and memorable, RQA has thoughtfully prepared custom-made aprons for the students. These aprons are more than just attire — they symbolize teamwork, accountability, and pride in serving the community.

At RQA, we believe that character is built not only in classrooms, but through meaningful action. This collaboration during Shehrullah is a reminder that even the smallest acts of service can leave the biggest imprint on the heart.

Exploring the Legacy of Egyptian Civilization – Grade 6 Presentation

The Grade 6 students at RQA delivered an impressive and well-researched presentation on Egyptian Civilization, taking their audience on a journey through some of the most significant periods in Egypt’s rich history.

Their presentation focused on three major eras:
  • The Old Kingdom
  • The New Kingdom
  • The Fatimid Period
Beginning with the Old and New Kingdoms, students explained the remarkable developments during the reign of the Pharaohs. They highlighted achievements in governance, architecture, art, and monumental construction, demonstrating a clear understanding of how these eras shaped ancient Egyptian society and left a lasting global legacy.

The presentation then transitioned to the Fatimid Period, where students thoughtfully emphasized its spiritual and cultural contributions. They discussed the construction of prominent Fatimid Jawameh (mosques), explaining their architectural beauty, historical importance, and the sense of barakaat (blessings) associated with these sacred spaces. The students articulated how these structures were not only places of worship, but also centers of learning, unity, and community life.

Each segment of the presentation reflected:
  • Careful research
  • Historical accuracy
  • Clear organization
  • Confident public speaking
  • Strong teamwork
The students presented every detail with clarity and confidence, showcasing not only their knowledge of Egyptian history but also their growing research, analytical, and presentation skills.

At RQA, we are committed to nurturing learners who understand history deeply and communicate their knowledge effectively. Grade 6 truly exemplified this spirit through their dedication and thoughtful presentation.

RQA Students Excel in MAP Testing – Above National Benchmarks

RQA recently conducted the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment for students across all grades — and we are proud to share a remarkable achievement.

Every single grade level scored above the national average.

This accomplishment is not just a statistic; it is a powerful reflection of the academic strength, consistency, and growth mindset that defines our school community.

MAP testing is designed to measure student progress in core academic areas and provides nationally normed data that allows schools to compare performance across the country. Scoring above the national benchmark across all grades demonstrates that our students are not only meeting expectations — they are exceeding them.

This success highlights several key strengths at RQA:
  • Strong curriculum alignment
  • Consistent instructional quality
  • Data-driven teaching strategies
  • Individualized academic support
  • A culture that values excellence
Most importantly, it reflects the unwavering dedication and commitment of our teachers. Their careful planning, continuous assessment, targeted intervention, and genuine investment in each child’s success make outcomes like this possible.

We also commend our students for their focus, discipline, and hard work. Their performance shows resilience, confidence, and readiness to compete at a national level.

For RQA, this is a significant milestone. It reaffirms that our academic model is effective, our standards are high, and our mission to cultivate capable, confident learners is being realized.

This achievement is huge for RQA — and it is only the beginning.

A Parent’s Perspective: How RQA Transformed Our Children in Just One Year

A Parent’s Perspective: How RQA Transformed Our Children in Just One Year.

At RQA, nothing makes us prouder than hearing directly from our parents. Recently, we received a heartfelt testimonial from a parent whose two sons joined RQA one year ago — and his words perfectly reflect what makes our learning environment so special.

1. Students Stay Engaged and Interested in Every Experience

He shared how his children are constantly excited and involved in all aspects of RQA — from classroom instruction to field trips, hands-on activities, guest speakers, and daily routines. Every day brings something meaningful, and the boys come home eager to share what they learned. This level of engagement is at the core of RQA’s teaching philosophy: learning should be active, enjoyable, and inspiring.

2. Visible Growth in Behavior, Manners, and Akhlaq

One of the most noticeable changes he observed is the improvement in his children’s behavior and basic manners. Their respectful attitude, discipline, and everyday akhlaq have grown beautifully. At RQA, character-building is woven into everything we do, helping students become not only knowledgeable, but noble in conduct.

3. A Family-Like Ambience That Creates True Belonging

What touched him the most is RQA’s warm, family-style culture. Older students naturally mentor younger ones, creating a “big brother” environment that makes every child feel supported and valued. This sense of belonging gives students confidence and comfort, turning RQA into a second home.

Why This Testimonial Matters

Feedback like this strengthens our commitment to providing a space where students thrive — academically, spiritually, and emotionally. For families exploring RQA, this parent’s experience offers a glimpse into the meaningful, community-centered education we strive to provide every day.

Watch the full testimonial to hear his experience firsthand.

If you’re considering RQA for your child, we’d love to welcome you into our family.

After the break, students participated in an engaging extracurricular session featuring a variety of educational games and board games. The focus was not only on fun, but on building connections, strengthening friendships, and fostering teamwork across different classes and grade levels.

Through these interactive activities, students were able to:

  • Reconnect with peers after the break
  • Develop communication and collaboration skills
  • Practice patience, strategy, and problem-solving
  • Strengthen sportsmanship and mutual respect

The laughter, teamwork, and positive energy throughout the session reflected the importance of Social-Emotional Learning in creating a supportive school environment.
